It is not everyone’s dream to tear through dirt trails down steep mountains. Not everyone wakes up in the morning daydreaming about how to get that edge over the other racers. For the rest of us, mountain biking is a nice way to relax to get some air and get away from the insanity of the city while burning some calories.

If this is your idea of a great weekend, then what would be the right bike to get you there and live to tell about it? The answer is the Mongoose Blackcomb. This bike is designed to survive those weekend adventures without eating a tree. A brute of a bike, if you can give it, this bike can take it. This is one mountain conquering machine you can’t go without.

Enter the Fun and Perfect Bike

When it comes to riding quality and performance, topping this bike is quite difficult. There is no other way to say it – Mongoose has made a brilliant bike, period. From Promax brakes, that would stop a landslide, to a 24-speed Shimano gear setup, this bike has everything you will ever need.

For long bike rides along a bumpy dirt road, you would need a bike that would provide for the most comfortable riding position. The Mongoose Blackcomb is specifically designed for this purpose – it is durable, comfortable and can be adjusted to the rider’s height and form to make long distance bike riding fun and enjoyable! The positioning of the handlebars, frame and fork construction and seat design are all developed for just this purpose. This is the perfect bike!

The Mongoose Blackcomb is every biker’s dream – it’s brilliant aluminum frame design with a dual alloy suspension and 4-bar vertical spring brings the perfect combination of performance and comfort. The bike’s bump-absorption capability and the seamless gear-shifts makes for one awesome deal.

Is there anything that we don’t like about the bike? The Kenda tires might seem average but if you consider the fact that this bike has been built for city and mountain use, or abuse, you will understand exactly why this bike has the wheels it does. Other than that, you might find the rims slightly less capable of handling the worst landings but then, Mongoose has already made it quite evident that this isn’t a competition bike.

The Price is Right!

So, how much are we willing to spend for a quality bike like the Mongoose Blackcomb? It’s hard to put a price on a bike that can tackle any terrain, provide the most comfortable and awesome bike riding experience and most importantly, ensure your safety. Given all of the above, you can get all these for just $400!

That’s all that unmatchable ride comfort and pleasure will cost you – $400! That is, of course, the price if you are buying it from the company or one of those special bike stores that keep all bike-related stuff only. If that is still too much for your wallet, keep checking major stores like Wal-Mart. Every now and then, a Mongoose Blackcomb turns up at their doorstep and sells out for almost $140 below the list price.

Whether you are looking to buy online or from a store, you will surely need to have all your ends covered. Do your research well and, if you can, take a test-ride to understand and feel the magic we are talking about. Only then will you realise that with this bike, you are already in the presence of greatness!

The school and courses on mountain climbing is at it’s peak now since this sports had become famous. Amateur sports can offer almost the same. These are able to offer becoming familiar with climbing techniques as well as safety during the climb. These are both of extreme importance in this kind of sport. They teach how to climb without suffering injuries and how to get real enjoyment out of the activity.

Mountain climbing courses are intended to teach people who had never climbed in their life. In these schools, on artificial climbing walls, you will learn the basics of the sport and its safety. Part of these mountain climbing lessons involves taking climbing trips to different mountains, cliffs and places where we can climb on natural walls. Although I’m not so into mountain climbing, i know few things about it that i can share. Always remember to bring a lot of water, that’s the first tip. Even in cool, temperate climates, dehydration is a possibility, so I fill one or two portable canteens with water.

The other thing worth bringing is food or snacks. Climbing drains your resources. Your both legs and it’s muscles will be weary. Mountain climbing does not depend on a compass. What you need to do first is to have an orientation about nature.

You must also be physically fit to go on the trip and must have comfortable climbing that you can wear. Avoid having to walk long distances in pain as it slowly transfers from you feet to affect your whole body. You shouldn’t choose a place which is not yet explored if you are still a newbie. Food, water, emergency kit and companions are the things that you should have before you start doing it. Be aware that mountain climbing could be perilous, whether you do so to keep fit or to satisfy your passion.

Before you take off on an adventure, learn first few tips. It’s very important to bring water, food and the essential equipment that will protect you from the snow, rain or cold. Next to this but also very important is adequate knowledge of the route you are to follow and also about the weather condition of the place. Some attention and courage are the needed requirements of mountain climbing.

As you can save in numerous ways, you could still afford going on your holiday vacation. Like instead of eating in restaurants, you can simply go home after your work and eat your dinner there. Refusing to go out for coffee with your friends at Starbucks and saying no to your weekly friday night out is another way of saving money too. You can give yourself a great vacation without thinking so much of the recession.

Fishing the Cape Cod Canal at night is a wonderful and sometimes downright eerie undertaking. There’s certainly no absence of interesting characters, creatures and odd noises down at the rip-rap after dark. Even so, if you are looking to substantially improve your odds of reeling in an immense striped bass from shore, then heading to the Cape Cod Canal during nighttime could indeed be for you.

The night time angling at the Canal begins to crank out big fish with the coming of the first 20 pound plus stripers. Frequently by Memorial Day big fish have settled back into the Canal-this is when the night time fishing truly begins to turn on. At this point of the season, night time outings can be a hit or miss proposition as huge bio masses of bass travel inside the Cape Cod Canal into Cape Cod Bay. Simply put, you could nail stripers one night and then fail to entice a take the following night. The moment the next school of large striped bass swims in via Buzzard’s Bay the angling turns on just as before. The best fishing seems to occur in waves at this time of the season.

Once summer rolls around the bulk of the striped bass base has settled into their warm weather haunts, which usually makes Cape Cod Canal fishing a great deal less hit or miss. It’s quite probable to catch keeper striped bass every night of the week, granted you have the ability to zone in on the most productive fishing spots.

The vast majority of the stripers that are hooked after dark are caught on bait, jigs and subsurface lures. Traveling up and down the service road, in search of surface feeding striped bass is obviously not a possibility. Having a solid understanding of the best locations and tides is even more critical when angling at night, then when fishing during the day.

The majority of significant bass caught during the night are taken out of holes, rips and close to bits of structure. Targeting these spots will dramatically increase your likelihood of hooking into a keeper sized striped bass. On the other hand, fishing areas devoid of structure, holes and rips will reduce your odds of bagging respectable striped bass.

Presenting jigs directly on the bottom in these spots, or swimming a lure or eel through a rip is a simple means to attracting a nice striper. Nevertheless some of the biggest bass ever captured in the Canal have been hooked on a piece of bait fished on the Canal’s bottom during a night time slack tide.

Subject to what the biomass of stripers elect to do, fall at the Canal may be either excellent or disappointing. If a biomass of striped bass opts to move through the Canal on their southerly migration, then the fishing at the Canal will be stellar. But if the main body of bass opts to swim around the arm of Cape Cod on their migration, then Cape Cod Canal anglers will be out of luck.

However even during slow autumns fishing the Canal at night for striped bass can result in many keeper stripers. As always, focusing on hitting the right Canal fishing spots during the right tide is the most important component for Cape Cod Canal striped bass fishing success.

A Few Tips For Fishing Beginners

Posted by Stacy Robinson on

Below is some of the best fishing tips and advice for the beginner fishing enthusiast. These tips will help to increase your odds of landing a big fish or at least having a more relaxing experience. These practical tips should increase your odds no matter what fish you are looking to catch.

First of all have patience. This advice is best for the novice to intermediate level fishing enthusiasts as they seem to be the most impatient. Have you ever seen a small child go fishing for the first time? Generally the first thing you hear after the “plop” of the bubble in the water is “Do I have one yet?” Fishing is just as much about self control as it is about catching fish. If you are constantly moving around and playing with your line you will scare away any potential fish. It may sound stupid but, you can only catch fish when your hook is in the water.

Secondly, be prepared. If you have to leave a good fishing hole because you forgot your lunch you will drastically lesson your odds. Some important items to bring on your excursion would be a sack lunch, all your necessary tackle that you will need: rod, reel, various tackle, baits and lures. Sun block, and dress in layers. Bring along a good fishing chair. Generally the more comfortable you are, the longer you will stay fishing. If you’re working on sunburn and dreaming of a burger, because you forgot your lunch, chances are your fishing trip will be shortened. A good first aid kit is always handy to have around as well, for that inevitable fishing hook that gets caught in your finger.

Thirdly, location is important. Who wants to fish where there are no fish? Find out from the local bait shop where a good fishing spot is and pay attention to the veteran fisherman, they will most likely not share their spots with you but you can be crafty as to find out where they are heading. Here are a few pointers for freshwater fish. Bass generally like cover to ambush their prey. Start towards the overhanging branches, tall grass and anything else that can act as a hide out. Trout like either running water, but can be caught in slower moving water as well. Look for eddies around rocks or other debris. Sunfish, honestly they are everywhere, but near the shore is sometimes better than deeper water. Pike also prefer running water, but will ambush their prey like bass, so they can be found in cover as well. Understand the habits of the fish you want to catch.

Enjoy Your Experience. If you are having a good time, you are going to spend more time fishing. The more time you are fishing the more fish you are going to catch. It is as simple as that. It is important to be relaxed but you also need to be on top of your game and mentally aware of everything that is going on around you. Have fun!
