The Atlas America insurance plan is a popular choice for non US residents and corporate travelers who seek medical insurance coverage during their overseas trip for study, business or leisure purposes.

This popular short term tourist medical insurance plan is available for duration as short as 5 days to a maximum period of 1 year. This tourist insurance plan covers senior citizens with varying policy maximums depending on their age as well as dependent children who are more than 14 days old.

The Atlas America insurance plan provides coverage for certain pregnancy complications that may arise during the first 26 weeks duration of gestation. The other beneficial health care coverage include in-patient and out-patient admission, doctor consultation, prescription drugs, surgeries, diagnostic tests and emergency medical evacuation and repatriation until the expenses reach the maximum policy limit.

Lost baggage, natural disaster benefit, trip interruption, terrorism coverage and accidental death and dismemberment benefits are some other coverage benefits included in the Atlas America tourist insurance plan. Travelers can also purchase adventure sports coverage as a rider policy in case any hazardous sports activities are planned during the trip.

The insured becomes eligible for a 15 days optional coverage in the homeland for purchasing three months continuous coverage under this tourist medical insurance plan. Expenses incurred in the case of any illness or injuries during temporary visits to the homeland would be covered under this benefit.

If the insured buys the Atlas America tourist medical insurance plan for a continuous period of 6 months, he is entitled to an optional coverage for 30-day duration upon return to the home country.

Treatments for any injury or illness during the overseas travel would be covered for a period of 180 days beginning on the day of diagnosis or treatment of the disorder either at the homeland or abroad.

Online renewal is allowed for the Atlas America tourist medical insurance plan and a $5 renewal fee is charged for processing. Once the insured crosses 1 year of continuous coverage, he needs to purchase a new tourist insurance policy. The individual can cancel this tourist insurance plan by submitting a written request before the effective start date and get full reimbursement.
